Wahlert High School by
T.F.
|
| Wahlert High School's first class came in the fall of 1959. They graduated in 1960. Parishes and schools did not have enough money to keep separate high schools going, so they decided to make one big catholic high school. The reason they decided to combine was so they had one catholic school to upgrade. The school is named after Harry Wahlert. | |
| There are 144 courses and 12 different sports. Some of the main sports are basketball, baseball, football, soccer, volleyball, and swimming. Not just boys play football, girls play too. They play powder puff. Powder puff only competes in one game a year. Some clubs are the art club, the French club, the Spanish club, and the German club. | |
| Wahlert has foreign exchange students. The exchange students come from places like Brazil, Germany, and England. Some say they come for the experience. Others come because they get extra credit. | |
| Of
course Wahlert has a homecoming king and queen. When they are picked
it is the homecoming queen from the year before that puts a crown on the
new queen. The king from the year before that puts a crown on the
new king.
In the year of 2000, 911 students attend Wahlert. There are over 100 staff and other workers at Wahlert. |
