First Presbyterian Westminster

On July 14, 1850, 20 pioneers formed the first Presbyterian church, They  met in the public hall, and the court house. The first Presbyterian church building was built at the corner of 12th and Main Street.
The second Presbyterian church was formed in the 1855's. In 1858 Westminster built a school and Fellowship Hall, they both were completed in September. Worship service were held in the Fellowship Hall for six years. The second Presbyterian church was located at 13th locust . Negotiation for the merger of the two churches began in Fall 1903. In December 13th 1903 merger was finally completed.
When the first Presbyterian church was made and they had a gathering meeting at eight '0 clock a.m. The date for New Years Prayer is on January 1, and the first one was in 1904 They also prayed in the second Presbyterian church. In 1950 they had decided to move to the University of Dubuque campus.
The Westminster Presbyterian church today, also has Sunday worships, they hold many meetings and they are open to the public.
