The East Dubuque School District P.T.O.}

PTO Minutes 4-18-11

 

I.                    Attendance:  Kim Mulgrew, Laurie Miller, Tony Delaney, Sara Feyen, Jen Montag, Stacy Oberman, Maureen Dietzel, Lori Olmstead, and Michelle Till.  Meeting called to order at 6:09pm.

II.                 Reviewed Minutes from 3-21-11.  Motion to approve by Lori Olmstead and seconded by Jen Montag.

III.               Jen Montag reviewed the Treasurer’s Report.  Motion to approve with revisions by Sara Feyen and seconded by Stacy Oberman.

IV.              Fundraising—

A.     Thumser’s 19th Hole-Next one is Monday April 25th.

B.      Wendy’s-Next one is tomorrow night.

C.     Jumpin’ Janes- No Profit

D.     Grand Harbor-we will try scheduling next year’s dates.  Trying for a date in December and March.

E.      Chestnut-Everyone has been reimbursed from Stacey Duster

F.      Carlos O’Kellys-Remaining sheets will be given to each staff member from Teacher Appreciation Week. 

G.     Mr. Z’s—Reading Carnival on May 5th.  The Duct Taping Event has been replaced with “Silly Stringing” a Staff Member.  Silly Stringing details will be worked out by Sara Feyen and Stacy Oberman.  Teachers will be responsible for having a drawing to choose one student to represent their class.  The entire class will vote for one of the volunteer staff members to be Silly Stringed.  Mrs. Till will check with Ms. Stierman and see if she can video tape the Silly Stringing.  Carnival set-up time will begin around 8:30am.

V.                 New/Old Business

A.     Teacher Appreciation, Secretaries Day, Nurses Day—Teachers and School Nurse will receive $50 and a Carlos sheet, Secretaries and Associates will receive $10 Target Card and a Carlos sheet, Bus Drivers, Custodians and Lunch Staff will receive a Carlos sheet.  We are arranging a Teacher Appreciation Lunch for Friday, May 6th.  Gifts will be distributed on May 6th as well.  Jen Montag arranging lunch and Kim Mulgrew is getting Target Gift Cards.

B.     Preparing a Retirement Gift for Kim Daykin.

C.     Campbell Soup Labels—28,000 points accumulated, discuss with Gym Teachers to see if they would need anything.  Also ask Associates if anything is needed for Indoor Recess and then check outdoor equipment.

D.     Junior High Auction—will be donating $100 for items they purchase.

E.      By-Laws will be updated by Kathy Stierman in the near future

F.      Funnel Net Climber—Still holding onto spare part

G.     Schedule for PTO Meetings for next year—August 15th @ 6pm.   We will meet to get things in order for the upcoming year.

H.     Lockers—thinking we would like to start saving for Lockers/Storage System and advertising this in our upcoming fundraisers.

VI.              Open Floor—Michelle Till is looking for a couple PTO Members to be part of the Student/Handbook Committee.

VII.            Meeting adjourned @ 7:25pm.  Motioned to approve by Sara Feyen and seconded by Lori Olmstead.
