The East Dubuque Elementary/Jr. High Library is charged with promoting lifelong learning by providing students with the expertise to effectively access, evaluate and use information.  We are open whenever school is in session, normally 8:00-3:45 Monday thru Friday.

Students have use of over 7,000 Books, 29 Magazine subscriptions and 5 Newspaper subscriptionsStudents and staff can access our circulations via the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) catalogue system.

Since we are a members of the Illinois Information Network (ILLINET) and Prairie Area Library System students and staff can access collections in state and national libraries via the Interlibrary Loan Service. Interlibrary loan in a service of the Illinois State Library in Springfield. 

Award Winning Books Program for Students

The library participates in the Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award Program.
Students who read the required books in the program receive prizes and recognition.

The Internet Public Library  Great homework help site hosted by the University of Michigan's School of Information.  You can search over 20,000 books free of charge.

Bartleby.com  An online source of free books that also includes a variety of reference tools.  The following are available for download:  dictionaries, thesauri, and the Columbia Encyclopedia.  Also available is the complete 70-volume Harvard Classics collection and the works of William Shakespeare.

Encyclopedia.com  Free online encyclopedia that provides users with more than 57,000 frequently updated articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. Each article is enhanced with links to newspaper and magazine articles as well as pictures and maps - all provided by HighBeam Research.

Multnomah Homework Center  Developed by librarians in Multnomah County (Oregon), you will find many useful homework resources.  Need extra help?  You can even chat with an online tutor, daily from 2p.m.—10p.m.
