The East Dubuque High School Library is charged with promoting lifelong learning by providing students with the expertise to effectively access, evaluate and use information.  We are open when school is in session, normally 7:00-3:00, Monday thru Friday.

Patrons have access to 4,000 Books, 28 Magazine subscriptions and 5 Newspaper subscriptionsStudents and staff can access our print media collection via our OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog).

Our library is a member of the Illinois Library Information Network (ILLINET) and Prairie Area Library System. Students and staff can access resources in state and national libraries via this Interlibrary Loan Service. ILLINET Interlibrary loan service is managed by the Illinois State Library.

The Internet Public Library  Great homework help site hosted by the University of Michigan's School of Information.  You can search over 20,000 books free of charge.

The World Factbook  Online version of the US Central Intelligence Agency's country information reference book.  Contains data for over 260 countries.  There are also eighteen reference maps in .pdf or .jpg format and eight appendices. The CIA World Factbook is recognized as one of the finest online resources for country information.

Bartleby.com  An online source of free books that also includes a variety of reference tools.  The following are available for download:  dictionaries, thesauri, and the Columbia Encyclopedia.  Also available is the complete 70-volume Harvard Classics collection and the works of William Shakespeare.

Encyclopedia.com  Free online encyclopedia that provides users with more than 57,000 frequently updated articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. Each article is enhanced with links to newspaper and magazine articles as well as pictures and maps - all provided by HighBeam Research.

Multnomah Homework Center  Developed by librarians in Multnomah County (Oregon), you will find many useful homework resources.  Need extra help?  You can even chat with an online tutor, daily from 2p.m.—10p.m.

Infoplease Provides access to reference resources (Almanacs, Atlas, Encyclopedia, Dictionary, Thesaurus) and several helpful links.
