Spelling

Students will take a spelling pretest every Monday.  If they get a 100% on the pretest, they will not have to take the final test on Friday.  We will complete work during the rest of the week to build knowledge of the spelling rule and the words.

Math

Students will take timed tests periodically throughout the school year.  We will be working on topics such as geometry, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.

Reading

Students will read 5 stories in each unit before a test is taken.  Throughout the week we will read each story twice, read 2 short stories that support our skill of the week, and build phonics skills.

Language

Students will spend a couple of weeks learning about sentence structures and then spend a couple of weeks writing a story with a different person.  That will continue throughout the school year.  Tests will be taken after each unit.

Science/Social Studies

Students will learn about the United States in Social Studies.  They will learn about the regions in the U.S. including states and capitals.  In Science they will learn about physical science, earth science, life science, and the human body.
