Dear Parents,
We believe that “Assertive Discipline” has been a positive way to encourage good student behavior. The goal of this plan is to spend more time teaching and less time responding to distractions. Please read and sign this sheet concerning the rules and consequences for 5th grade.

Rules
1. Complete work on time
2. Respect others at all times
3. Follow directions
4. Quiet during work time
5. Keep self and objects to self

Procedures for inappropriate behavior
1. Name on board
2. Check after name and student will lose chance to be nominated for Character Counts Award.
3. Check after name and the student will write note to parents explaining their behavior.
This letter is to be signed by parents and returned.
4. If student gets another check, they will be given a detention to be served after school from 3-3:30. The student will contact parent(s) about detention and ride home.

Reward
The students will be rewarded for good behavior with praise, popcorn, stickers, and other positive reinforcements.

Thank you,
Let’s have a great year!
Mrs. Powers / Mrs. Schemmel
