Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Lily Sprengelmeyer and I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.  I know we are going to have a great year, as I have many exciting things planned!

As a graduate from the University of Iowa I received a degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Reading.  During my time at the University of Iowa I worked as an elementary reading and writing tutor for three years.  In addition I volunteered in a Romanian orphanage for two summers, and studied abroad in both Latin America and Europe. 

Three years ago I was afforded the wonderful opportunity to student teach here at East Dubuque Elementary, and since my completion I have taught third grade.  It is my honor to be working with the faculty at East Dubuque and I look forward to getting to know your son/daughter better in the months to come.

·        Any incomplete work (or assignments) will be put in the RED HOMEWORK FOLDER at the end of the day.  This work should be finished at home and returned to school the very next morning in your RED FOLDER.

·        If homework is not turned in as expected, the student will be required to stay after school and finish the incomplete work.  A phone call will be made to parents to make certain someone is available to pick them up.

·        PARENTS please sign your child’s ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOK daily, so that you and your child are aware of work that needs to be completed.  I also use the assignment notebooks to communicate with parents, should issues arise in class.
