Raisin in the Sun

Wednesday, May 24th
The Younger Family in A Raisin in the Sun received an insurance check for $10,000. That $10,000 certainly would buy a lot more in 1959 than it will today. Click this link
(What things cost in 1959) to check out prices of some common objects in 1959.

Now use this link (How Much is that Worth Today?) to find out how much money today would equal $10,000 in 1959. Simply type in the the information and click on the "submit query" button.

Writing Assignment: Write or type a paragraph telling what you would do with that amount of money. Think about if you would share some, save some, invest some, spend some, etc. What would you buy? With whom would you share?
