Grading and Expectations

Grading

My course is based and the cumulative points for the entire semester. The grading does not start over at the quarter. My grading scale is consistent with the recommended grading scale for the East Dubuque School District.

The type of assignments will include lab and written work, tests and a final exam. The assignments are not weighted. The following is a general outline of the amount of the overall points for each type of assignment

Written work- worksheets, Notes, labs, textbook assignments reports        

40-55%

Unit Tests                                                                                                           40-55%

Final Exam                                                                                                          10-20%

All written work will be turned in and totaled at the end for each unit.

Extra Credit

Extra credit is offered sparingly will only be offer to the entire class. Extra credit will not be offered on an individual basis.

Expectations

  1. Home assignments must be complete and with necessary detail to receive full credit.
  2. Assignments must be completed on time and proper corrections must be made to receive full credit.
  3. The first missed exams due to unexcused absences will be made up at the instructors discretion.
  4. You are responsible for find out and making up missed homework.
  5. Homework is worth half the points at maximum when turned in late.
  6. I am available for help during 7th period and after school by arrangement
  7. Always bring you agenda!
  8. Be sure to note the path you should follow during a fire, severe weather drill and any other emergency information associated with the classroom or the lab.
  9. Bring your notebook and writing equipment to class each day. Bring your textbook to class each day also. Some reference books will be available in the classroom and others in the library.
  10. Bring your homework to class as assigned. Home work is due any time after the assigned due date 
  11. Please do not sharpen pencils, fill fountain pens or dispose of waste paper during active teaching. Such things can be done before or after class.
  12. Do not handle other students property or projects
  13. Wait for a word or sign of dismissal by the teacher. The sound of the bell does not dismiss the class.
  14. Do not enter the lab section of the classroom unless informed.
  15.  Have a separate folder of unit activities.
  16. Follow all lab safety rules and never tamper with safety equipment.
